students from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium, and Ruhuna University of Sri Lanka visited the Lanka Mangrove Museum for a joint research project on microplastic pollution in Pambala Lagoon.

On March 19, 2025, a group of students from Ocean University visited Pambala Lagoon as part of their research project on microplastic pollution. The Lanka Mangrove Museum facilitated their study, providing guidance and logistical support.

On February 22nd, 2025, the Scouts of Chilaw, with the support of the Lanka Mangrove Museum, organized a successful beach cleaning project at the Chilaw Beach area! 🧹🌴 Together, they worked hard to remove waste, helping restore the beauty of the coastline while raising awareness about the importance of keeping our beaches clean. 🗑️✨

We were delighted to welcome visitors from Italy to the Lanka Mangrove Museum! 🇮🇹✨ They explored our interactive exhibits, learned about the vital role of mangroves in protecting coastal ecosystems, and discovered the importance of conservation efforts.

The Lanka Mangrove Museum in Pambala, a hub of knowledge on mangrove ecosystems and conservation, recently welcomed a group of students from the Open University of Sri Lanka. The visit, led by Prof. Roshan, a distinguished professor at the Open University and a Director of the Lanka Mangrove Museum, was an enriching experience that deepened students’ understanding of Sri Lanka’s vital coastal ecosystems.
