Research Collaboration on Microplastic Pollution at Pambala Lagoon

📅 Date: March 22, 2025
📍 Location: Lanka Mangrove Museum, Pambala Lagoon

Today, a group of students from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium, and Ruhuna University of Sri Lanka visited the Lanka Mangrove Museum for a joint research project on microplastic pollution in Pambala Lagoon.

The Museum team actively supported their study by providing logistical assistance, including boat transportation, and helping with sample collection from the lagoon. This collaboration marks a significant step in understanding the impact of microplastics on coastal ecosystems and reinforces the Museum’s commitment to environmental conservation and scientific research.

We are proud to facilitate such important research and look forward to future collaborations that contribute to the protection of our precious mangrove and lagoon ecosystems. 🌱🌊
