Scientific Committee Members
The Scientific Committee of the Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center plays a central advisory and supervisory role in ensuring that all educational programs, conservation projects, and scientific displays at the museum are grounded in rigorous research.
Key Objectives & Mandate
Scientific Oversight: Guiding the research direction and ensuring the technical accuracy of the museum’s exhibits and educational initiatives.
Mentorship: Supervising the Young Researchers Circle (YRC), enabling university undergraduates and young scientists to conduct field-based mangrove research.
Policy & Conservation Guidance: Offering expert knowledge on mangrove restoration, blue carbon/soil carbon sequestration, and coastal ecosystem resilience in Sri Lanka.
