On the 9th of April 2025, the Conservation Office in Halawata successfully organized an insightful and educational awareness workshop at the Lanka Mangrove Museum, specially designed for 104 students from Dhammissara National School.

The workshop aimed to enhance the students’ understanding of mangrove ecosystems, their ecological importance, and the vital role they play in coastal protection, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation. Held within the immersive setting of the museum, students had the opportunity to explore the various exhibits showcasing Sri Lanka’s rich mangrove heritage.
