Educational Visit: Students from Kuliyapitiya Explore the Lanka Mangrove Museum

March 25, 2025

The Lanka Mangrove Museum was delighted to host a group of enthusiastic students from an Educational Institute in Kuliyapitiya last week. The young visitors spent a day immersed in the fascinating world of mangrove ecosystems, exploring our exhibits and engaging with our educational resources.

Throughout their visit, the students displayed genuine curiosity about Sri Lanka’s precious mangrove habitats. They eagerly examined our interactive displays showcasing the diverse flora and fauna that thrive in these unique coastal ecosystems.

Our museum team provided special video documentaries and presentations tailored to enhance their understanding of mangrove conservation and the critical ecological services these environments provide. The students particularly enjoyed learning about the role mangroves play in protecting coastal communities, supporting marine life, and mitigating climate change.

“It was wonderful to see such engagement from these young learners,” remarked one of our museum guides. “Their questions and enthusiasm give us hope for the future of mangrove conservation in Sri Lanka.”

The educational visit aligns with our museum’s mission to raise awareness about the importance of preserving Sri Lanka’s mangrove ecosystems, particularly among the younger generation who will become tomorrow’s environmental stewards.

We look forward to welcoming more student groups to the Lanka Mangrove Museum and continuing our educational outreach efforts throughout the year.
