On the 29th of July 2025, the Lanka Mangrove Museum welcomed a vibrant group of 254 students and 40 teachers from Mahanuwara Gothami Balika Vidyalaya. The visiting students, ranging from grades 6 to 9, were given a unique opportunity to explore the museum’s exhibits and gain a deeper understanding of Sri Lanka’s precious mangrove ecosystems.

How Microplastics Endanger Our Environment, On July 17, 2025, the Lanka Mangrove Museum conducted a special awareness programme focused on the growing environmental concern of microplastics. The session was organized for the primary students of Ch/ Vijaya Maha Vidyalaya, Chilaw, with the aim of educating young minds about the dangers posed by microplastic pollution and its impact on marine ecosystems.

On July 16, 2025, Prof. Sudheera M. W. Ranwala from the Department of Plant Sciences, University of Colombo, visited the Lanka Mangrove Museum accompanied by a group of undergraduate students. The visit formed part of their academic exposure to wetland ecosystems and plant biodiversity, with a specific focus on mangrove environments.

On April 14, 2025, a group of enthusiastic students from Taxila Maha Vidyalaya Horana, visited the Lanka Mangrove Museum for an enriching educational experience centered on mangrove conservation and environmental awareness.

An awareness program aimed at enhancing environmental knowledge and enforcement capacity was successfully conducted on [insert exact date if available] by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) in collaboration with the Lanka Mangrove Museum. The session was specifically organized for Environmental Police Officers in the Puttalam District, bringing together law enforcement personnel committed to protecting Sri Lanka’s natural ecosystems.
