However, mangroves are under threat due to deforestation, pollution, and unsustainable development. Organizations like “Together With Mangroves” are vital in raising awareness and mobilizing communities to protect these invaluable ecosystems.

On the 25th of January 2025, members of the “Together With Mangroves” Children and Youth Environmental Society at St. Xavier’s National College proudly received their official Society T-shirts. The occasion marked yet another significant milestone in the group’s journey toward fostering environmental awareness and taking concrete steps to protect and conserve mangroves and other natural resources.
The Society has been steadily growing in membership, driven by the enthusiasm of children and youth who are committed to making a tangible difference in the fight against environmental degradation.
