Kadawatha Madya Maha Vidyalaya Students Visit the Lanka Mangrove Museum
On the 10th of May 2025, the Lanka Mangrove Museum warmly welcomed 65 enthusiastic students from Kadawatha Madya Maha Vidyalaya. The visit marked another successful educational journey, fostering awareness about the importance of mangrove ecosystems among the younger generation.
The students were guided through the museum’s interactive exhibits, which highlighted the vital role mangroves play in coastal protection, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation. They learned about various mangrove species found in Sri Lanka, as well as the threats these fragile ecosystems face due to human activities and environmental changes.
The visit included an engaging documentary screening and a discussion session led by the museum’s educational staff. Students eagerly asked questions and shared their own observations, reflecting a keen interest in environmental conservation.
