On July 9, 2025, a group of students from the prestigious Girls’ High School, Kandy visited the Lanka Mangrove Museum for an engaging and educational experience focused on mangrove ecosystems and environmental conservation.

During their visit, the students took part in an informative session that highlighted the environmental, economic, and social importance of mangroves. The session also explored how mangroves act as natural barriers against coastal erosion, serve as nurseries for marine life, and contribute significantly to carbon sequestration. The museum’s educational team encouraged the students to become ambassadors of conservation in their own communities.
