The Lanka Mangrove Museum has initially started a free tutoring program aimed at “Together with Mangroves” Youth Society members. These youth members are the children of Pambala Mangrove, a nearby community. Due to rising living expenses, the majority of Sri Lankan parents nowadays cannot afford to pay for their children’s education. In order to address the educational concerns, the museum decided to set up an educational program for the children who live close to the mangrove. This is a fantastic chance for students who have recently graduated from colleges or other higher national education institutions. While they are looking for work, they can initially support this program, and students who have passed the G.C.E. A/L Examination have the chance to share their skills to these young people.

Beginning on February 3, 2024, W.N. Samadhi Thissera, graduated at Wayamaba Higher National College of Education, is the program’s instructor. She is a junior teacher at Ch/Vijaya Vidyalaya, Chilaw. She is prepared to provide knowledge to the young people in the society. Right now. Anyone who joins the Youth Society is eligible to participate in this free tutoring program.

The free tutoring program scheduled as follows:

• Every Wednesday – English (2 hours from 3- 5 pm) – Instructor, Dilki Shanika, Education Officer
• Every Saturday – Science (1 hour from 8.30 – 9.30 am) – Instructor, W. N. Samadhi Thissera

                                   -Maths(1 hour from 9.30 to 10.30 am) – Instructor, W. N. Samadhi Thissera

The tutoring hours may be changed depending on the subject matter.
