First Gathering of “Together With Mangroves” Children and Youth Environmental Society for 2026

On 10th January 2026, the Lanka Mangrove Museum & Learning Center held the first gathering of the year for the “Together With Mangroves” Children and Youth Environmental Society. This meeting marked an important beginning to the society’s activities for 2026.

During the gathering, the Director of the Museum, together with the museum staff, engaged in a productive discussion with the students about their plans and goals for the year ahead. Key topics included upcoming conservation activities, awareness programs, fieldwork, and ways to strengthen youth involvement in protecting mangrove ecosystems.

The session encouraged active participation from the students, allowing them to share ideas and suggestions while gaining guidance from the Director and staff. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to work collaboratively throughout 2026 to promote mangrove conservation, environmental responsibility, and youth leadership.
