Aegicerus corniculatum grows in the form of a 2-3 meter bush. This species produce bunches of white flowers. The country name of this species is “Evari-Kadol” / “Heen-Kesel-Ken” because it has bunches of small propagules arranged like banana-bunches. This species can grow in comparatively high salinity soils. It has some adaptations such as salt glands on leaves and crypto-viviparous fruits to survive in harsh conditions in the intertidal zone.
This species has no particular timber value as the trees grows in the form of a bush. Dead branches are used for firewood. Aegicerus corniculatum is used in the traditional medicine for treating Diabetics, Asthma and Rheumatic Fever
