🌿 Mangrove Awareness Programme and Mangrove Reserve Clean-up in Celebration of International Mangrove Day 2026 🌿

Today, in celebration of International Mangrove Day, a Mangrove Awareness Programme and a Mangrove Reserve Clean-up Campaign were successfully conducted to promote environmental conservation and community participation.

The programme brought together enthusiastic participants from:

  • Students of the Ocean University of Sri Lanka
  • School Students
  • “Together with Mangroves” Children’s Environmental Society

The activities focused on raising awareness of the ecological importance of mangrove ecosystems while encouraging participants to take an active role in protecting and preserving these valuable coastal habitats. Working together, the participants helped clean the mangrove reserve, demonstrating their commitment to conserving Sri Lanka’s natural heritage.
