Continuing her six-week educational and research journey at the Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center, the young volunteer from India participated in an educational session focused on mangrove plants and their importance.

During the session, she was introduced to the unique characteristics of mangrove species, their adaptations to coastal environments, and the important ecological services provided by mangrove ecosystems. The session included discussions on mangrove diversity, conservation methods, and the role of these valuable coastal forests in protecting biodiversity and supporting coastal communities.

Through practical learning and observations, the volunteer gained a deeper understanding of Sri Lanka’s mangrove ecosystems and the conservation efforts carried out by the Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center.

This learning activity is part of her ongoing volunteer program, where she is gaining practical experience in mangrove conservation, environmental education, and sustainable ecosystem management. The program also provides an opportunity for international knowledge exchange and strengthens awareness about the importance of protecting mangroves globally.

The Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center is pleased to support young environmental enthusiasts from around the world and provide a platform for learning, research, and conservation action.

Through such programs, the museum continues to inspire the next generation of environmental ambassadors dedicated to protecting our precious coastal ecosystems.
