On July 9, 2025, the Lanka Mangrove Museum welcomed a group of enthusiastic students from Welpalla Sri Sangarathana Maha Vidyalaya for an educational visit focused on the importance of mangrove ecosystems. The group also participated in an awareness session, during which museum educators explained the threats mangroves face—such as deforestation, pollution, and climate change—and how young individuals can play a key role in protecting them.
