🌿 960 Mangrove Saplings Planted in the Kalpitiya Lagoon to Mark International Mangrove Conservation Day 🌱
In celebration of International Mangrove Conservation Day, a mangrove restoration programme was successfully carried out today at the Kalpitiya Lagoon, where 960 Red Mangrove saplings were planted.
This initiative aims to restore degraded mangrove habitats, strengthen coastal resilience, enhance biodiversity, and contribute to climate change mitigation through the conservation and expansion of Sri Lanka’s valuable mangrove ecosystems.
We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who participated and supported this meaningful environmental initiative. Together, we are helping to build a greener, more resilient future for generations to come.
🌱 “Every mangrove sapling planted today is an investment in protecting our coasts, preserving biodiversity, and securing a sustainable future.”
