The Young Researchers Circle (YRC) of the Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center is a newly established committee formed by a dynamic team of passionate young researchers. Most members are university degree holders and undergraduates representing diverse fields of environmental science, ecology, biology, and related disciplines.
The association is mainly supervised by Mr. Duglas Thesera/ Director and Ms. P. Dilki Kaushalya/ Education Officer, of the Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center providing continuous mentorship and direction.
The primary aim of the Young Researchers Circle is to foster collaboration, expand scientific research, and promote innovation in mangrove conservation and coastal ecosystem studies. Through field-based investigations, awareness initiatives, and research collaborations, the YRC seeks to contribute to the Museum’s mission of environmental education, sustainable development, and biodiversity conservation.
By empowering young minds and encouraging scientific curiosity, the YRC serves as a bridge between academic knowledge and practical conservation efforts—building a new generation of environmental leaders dedicated to protecting Sri Lanka’s mangrove ecosystems.
