Students of Taxila Maha Vidyalaya Horana, Visit Lanka Mangrove Museum

On April 14, 2025, a group of enthusiastic students from Taxila Maha Vidyalaya visited the Lanka Mangrove Museum for an enriching educational experience centered on mangrove conservation and environmental awareness.

The visit offered students a unique opportunity to explore one of Sri Lanka’s most important ecological learning centers. The museum’s interactive exhibits showcased the biodiversity of mangrove ecosystems, their critical role in protecting coastlines, and their importance in climate change mitigation.

During the visit, the students participated in an awareness session conducted by the museum’s educational team, where they learned about the threats faced by mangroves—including deforestation, pollution, and unregulated development—and discussed ways they could contribute to conservation efforts in their communities.

The Lanka Mangrove Museum was honored to host the students and commends Taxila Maha Vidyalaya for encouraging youth participation in environmental learning. Programs like this help nurture the next generation of eco-conscious citizens in Sri Lanka.
