On 5th January 2026, six students from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, who are studying Urban and Aquatic Bio-Resources, visited the Lanka Mangrove Museum & Learning Center (LMM&LC) to collect data for their academic research.
Their study focuses on “Identification of Mangrove Plant Species and Their Diverse Morphological Characteristics.” During the visit, the students closely observed different mangrove species, examined their physical features, and gathered field-based data to support their research objectives. The visit provided valuable hands-on learning and enhanced their understanding of mangrove biodiversity and species identification in a natural setting.
