Special Programme for Open University of Sri Lanka Students at the Lanka Mangrove Museum

On 26th September 2025, the Lanka Mangrove Museum held a special programme for the students of the Open University of Sri Lanka. The event featured Prof. Padmalal and other distinguished lecturers, who engaged the students in an insightful discussion on mangrove conservation.

The lecture focused on recapturing the history of the mangrove conservation project initiated in 1994 and reviewing its progress up to 2025. Prof. Padmalal reminded participants of the significant milestones achieved over three decades of dedicated conservation efforts.

During the programme, special recognition was given to Mr. Dugles, Director of the Museum, who has been an active member and mangrove protector since the inception of the project in 1994. His continuous commitment and contributions were highly praised.

The programme not only highlighted the achievements of the past but also inspired students to carry forward the mission of mangrove conservation into the future.
