Research on Biomass Growth and Oxygen Release of Restored Mangroves
A research student from the Open University of Sri Lanka visited the Lanka Mangrove Museum and Learning Center to carry out field studies at Pambala Lagoon. The focus of the research is on evaluating the biomass growth and oxygen-releasing capacity of restored mangroves.
This study is significant in understanding the ecological benefits of mangrove restoration, particularly their role in improving air quality and contributing to climate change mitigation. The findings will provide valuable insights into the long-term impact of mangrove rehabilitation projects implemented in the lagoon.
