Field Visit of 3rd ICMS Programme Held at Lanka Mangrove Museum

On 24th July 2025, the Lanka Mangrove Museum (LMM) hosted the field visit of the 3rd International Coastal Management Studies (ICMS) Programme with the participation of 35 individuals. The delegation included distinguished guests such as Prof. Kadiresan and his wife, Prof. Vijoynandan and his family from India, along with professors, lecturers, and students from the Open University of Sri Lanka.

As part of the visit, participants engaged in a comprehensive mangrove awareness programme. They explored the museum exhibits, learned about mangrove ecosystems, and observed conservation efforts being carried out in the Pambala Lagoon and surrounding areas.

The event served as an educational and collaborative platform, fostering international academic exchange and promoting the importance of coastal ecosystem restoration and sustainable management.
