Initiate the tasks for making a small mangrove nursery from “Together with Mangroves” Youth Society Members.

The Lanka Mangrove Museum has made the decision to create a small mangrove nursery in order to provide the Youth Society members with hands-on experience. The museum hopes to inspire children to learn via nature with this effort. Since today is the first day of this program, the kids got together to set up the mangrove nursery.

Preparing the nursery pots is the first step in the mangrove nursery process. Therefore, the kids gathered the mud from the Chilaw Pambala Lagoon at first and then filled filled the nursery bags with it. The museum director gave them the guidance and support to do this work, and the participating kids enjoyed this new activity. They worked with great enthusiasm, and these works helped to build teamwork and leadership as well as the future mangrove conservators.
