We are excited to announce the mangrove tree planting initiative taking place in Ammathottam village, located within the beautiful Kalpitiya Lagoon. This collaborative effort involves a diverse partnership committed to enhancing the local environment and promoting sustainability.

Participants:

  1. Ammatottam Children: A dedicated group of 20 children from Ammathottam are actively participating in the planting efforts, learning about the importance of mangroves for their community.
  2. Kandakuliya Children: The initiative is supported by 58 children from nearby Kandakuliya, who are eager to contribute to the preservation of our coastal ecosystems.
  3. Ammatottam participents: 20 women from Ammathottam are involved, bringing their knowledge and experience to the project, emphasizing the role of women in environmental conservation.
  4. Ammatottam Fishing community: A group of fishermen from Ammathottam also participates, highlighting the community’s commitment to protecting their natural resources.
