This initiative encourages teachers to promote and educate students about mangrove protection and related educational programs at the Lanka Mangrove Museum. This program was attended by about 40 school teachers, as well as the Director of the Chilaw Zonal Education Office. There was a lecture and a practical session during the program, with Dr. M.P Kumara, Senior Professor at the University of Ruhuna, serving as the resource person. During his fascinating presentation, he explained the importance of the mangrove ecosystem, guided a practical exercise identifying different species of mangroves in the Chilaw Pambala Lagoon Area, and explained the process of measuring mangrove soil carbon.
